Add a Tool Link to Course Menu

You can add links to Blackboard tools in the course menu. Many instructors use links to discussion boards, Zoom, and so on. Find the process for adding some specific menu links below. Revise this process for a different type of tool link.

Add Discussion Board link to course menu

Enter your Blackboard course and have Edit Mode turned on.

1. At top left, just above the course menu, click the plus icon
2. click Tool Link
3. Give a name to the link (like "Discussions")
4. Select Discussion Board from drop down menu
5. check the box to make the link available
6. The link will appear at the bottom of the course menu. Drag it to a preferred location, such as in the Support section (if present)

Add Zoom tool link to course menu

Enter your Blackboard course and have Edit Mode turned on.

1. At top left, just above the course menu, click the plus icon
2. click Tool Link
3. Give a name to the link (like "Zoom")
4. Select Zoom from drop down menu
5. check the box to make the link available
6. The link will appear at the bottom of the course menu. Drag it to a preferred location, such as in the Support section (if present)
