Add Link to Student Knowledge Base
Online Learning has developed an online knowledge base where students can find answers to common questions regarding online and enhanced classes. Support students by adding links to the knowledge base in your existing Blackboard course shells.
Method 1: Add a Link in Course Menu
Enter your Blackboard course and have Edit Mode turned on.
- At top left, just above the course menu, click the plus icon
- click Web Link
- Give a name to the link ("OL Help" is a good choice)
- paste this URL: https://mhcc-ol.com/StudentHelp/
- check the box to make the link available
- The link will appear at the bottom of the course menu. Drag it to a preferred location, such as in the Support section (if present)
Method 2: Add a Link within a Lesson Page
You can easily add links to specific pages of the knowledge base. For example, if you have an assignment in which students need to know how to take a screenshot, link to the knowledge base page that gives instructions on taking screenshots.
- Simply type in some text for your link,
- then highlight that text
- and click the add link button in the editor toolbar
- paste the URL to the specific knowledge base page
Method 3: Add a Link in Lesson or Module
With Edit mode turned on, navigate to Lessons Homepage or any module where you want to create the link.
- In the build bar across the top of the page, hover over Build Content, click Web Link
- Give a name to the link
- paste the URL to the desired knowledge base topic
- include a description, if desired
