Update Support Links
Some older course shells in Blackboard may have broken, irrelevant or outdated student support links. It's easy to update these links so students can get the help they need from college support services.
The Correct Links
Once you determine your links are incorrect, either by checking them yourself or getting a heads up from Online Learning, you'll need to access the correct links.
Adding New Support Links
If your support link points to a document (likely for old Tech Support menu item) or if they don't exist, you'll need to create a new one.
- Navigate to the course menu
- Select the Plus sign button at the top left of the menu and choose Web Link from the menu.
- When the window opens, paste the correct URL and name the support link. Be sure it is available to students.
- Submit the window. Your link should now appear at the bottom of the course menu. Drag into place and delete the old document link.
Editing Existing Support Links
If your support link points to an incorrect web page (likely for old Library and Tutoring links), you'll need to edit the link.
- Navigate to the course menu
- Select the Action Link sign for the old link and choose Web Link from the menu.
- When the window opens, overwrite the old URL with the correct URL.
- Submit the window. Test your new link.
