Sharing Your Blackboard Syllabus
Why share a syllabus?
Sometimes online instructors need to share course information with parties who do not have login access to Blackboard. This can be with department administrators, other faculty or with incoming students before they are able to log into the LMS. The latter scenario can be especially useful in establishing course expectations and giving students a leg up. See Start of Term preparations for more information about the benefits of reaching out to students early. In Bb, syllabus and lesson pages are .html files, and it can be difficult to share these without losing critical formatting.
Permissions
The easiest way to share your course syllabus or other content is to set permissions. You’ll always need to do this for your course files (see Setting Student Permissions), but taking the extra step to set open access on your syllabus folder makes sharing those files outside Bb easy.
