Create and Upload Video with Kaltura KMS Go

Kaltura KMS Go is an app available for iPhones and Android smartphones. If you plan to record video using your Android or iPhone, KMS Go will make the process of uploading to Kaltura seamless. To get started, please be sure to first install and log in to KMS Go. The screenshots below are specific to an Android phone (as of April 2020). iPhone users may see a slightly different interface. We will try to update this page as new versions of the KMS Go app are made available.

Create or Upload Media

You can choose to upload existing media (images, videos, and audio files) or create new media. Links in the steps below open example images.

1. Once you have logged in to KMS Go, the app may begin with a fairly blank screen. You should see the text "Mt. Hood Community College" at the top. Click the Upload icon at bottom center
2. On the Upload popup, select the media type
3. On the next menu, choose whether to upload from a gallery (an existing media file) or whether to use your camera, video recorder, or audio recorder to create a new file. Options will be different based on device and installed apps on your device.
4. If you choose to upload existing media, select the file
5. If you choose to create new media, your device will launch to selected app. In the example shown on this page, a new video is being created.
6. Proceed to record video as you normally would.
7. When you press the button to stop recording, select whether you want to Retry the video or whether you accept (OK) the video you created.
8. When you OK the media, you will be shown a preview screen where you can review the media. When finished reviewing, click Next at top right
9. Add a title for your media, then Upload
10. Your upload progress will be shown

If you encounter problems uploading to Kaltura

Some instructors have been unable to upload to Kaltura through the KMS Go app on occasions. This may be due to connectivity issues, but we do not have a solution for this issue.

1. Log in to MediaSpace using the web browser on your iPhone or Android phone
2. Click Add New, then Media Upload
3. Select the video file you recorded on your device

Blackboard Instructors Alternate to the Alternate Method

1. Blackboard instructors can also log in to Blackboard on their device
2. Open Kaltura Media in Blackboard
3. Click Add New, then Media Upload
4. Select the video file you recorded on your device
