OER - Open Educational Resources
What is OER?
Open Educational Resources are free materials that may be adopted for course use. More detailed definitions are available from these sources:
OER include complete, professional quality textbooks, such as those provided through OpenStax. Videos, assessment tools, and other resources may also be available.
Why Use OER?
Adopting OERs saves students money. It also can allow faculty to edit and customize textbook content, depending on the license granted with the OER. OER use is supported and encouraged on the state level and through the MHCC Textbook Affordability Team. OER use can also be a marketing point for your course.
Where to Get Help?
