Activate your Zoom Account

Zoom is integrated with Blackboard. All instructors in all Blackboard courses can access Zoom. Your Zoom account will be automatically activated within Blackboard when you follow the steps below.

Do not create an account of your own with your MHCC email address on the Zoom website.
This will prevent your account from automatically being integrated with Blackboard.

Activate Zoom through Blackboard

Enter any of your Blackboard courses and make sure Edit Mode is on,
Your course may have a link in the course menu called Virtual Office (Zoom). If so, click that link and follow the instructions in Blackboard, then skip to step 4 below. If your course does not have the Zoom Meetings link, continue to the next step below.
If you do not see a course menu link to Zoom, it is easy to add a Tool link and select the Zoom tool. After adding the Zoom tool link, click it.
Activate your account by entering a password.
Your Zoom account is now activated. The first time you launch Zoom, you will be prompted to download the Zoom app.

Complete your activation

You will receive a Zoom activation link via email. Please click on this link to activate immediately, as this link expires.
Activating the link will allow you to also log in to the Zoom website and manage, share, and launch meetings there.

Activate Zoom if you do not use Blackboard

If you do not have access to Blackboard, you will need to contact Cat Schleichert ([email protected]) in Online Learning to have a Zoom account set up for you.
