Host Virtual Office Hours in Zoom
When you hold office hours in person, you probably let in one student at a time and consult with them in private before moving to the next student. With the correct Zoom settings enabled, you can offer the same type of privacy to students attending virtual office hours.
Monitor Attendees
Using our recommended meeting settings, students will be assigned to a waiting area when they enter the Zoom session. The meeting host will hear a chime each time a participant enters or exits the meeting. The host can also visually monitor the participants list. When you launch your Zoom meeting do the following:
- At the bottom of your Zoom meeting management window, click Manage Participants.
- A pane showing participants will open at the right of the window
- Click the More button at the bottom right
- Click Play enter/exit chime
