How to Delete Old Discussion Threads in New Class
If you have copied your previous course into the shell for a new term and discovered that you accidentally copied over student threads from the previous term, there is a simple way to remove those threads.
Delete Old Threads
For each discussion forum with threads you want to delete,
- Enter the discussion forum
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and use the Edit Paging button to make display all threads on a single page (Only 25 threads display by default. If you have more than that, change the paging number to equal the number of threads present in the forum. That number appears next to the Edit Paging button.)
- At the top of the page, click the checkbox at the top of the left column to select all threads on the page
- Optionally, deselect any threads you do not want to delete. For example, if you have a starter thread that you have written and you want to remain in the forum, click the box to the left of that thread to deselect it.
- At either the top or bottom of the page, click Delete to remove all selected discussion threads.
Tip
If you do not want old discussion threads to be copied into your new course, be sure to pay attention to step #9 in the Course Copy Visual Guide.
